Abstract :
This paper presents the development and RF performance of a 250 watt output power module by power combining the outputs of two 6 to 18 GHz Mini TWTs. This power module is designed for a shipboard phased array system. The power module has two RF output ports. The combined output power can be steered to either port or shared to both ports by means of low level RF switching inside the input RF module. The input RF module network consists of a coupler, a solid state preamplifier, equalizer, hybrids and RF switches. The output hybrid uses a waveguide network with output sum port and delta port terminated with WRD-750 flanges. Each output port has forward and reverse coupling for signal sampling and monitoring. The power module is designed with modular concept for maintainability.
