Abstract
Presents a new implementation of the radial search algorithm for the detection of left ventricle boundaries in short axis mid-papillary muscle echocardiographic images, using two cascaded artificial neural networks and a snake energy minimising function to create the final contour. The neural networks are used as statistical classifiers to give a probability measure of their classifications
