Overview of an advanced system architecture for control centre applications

Today, the power utility industry requires control centres capable of adapting to changing operational and business needs. This has led to a demand for systems providing cost effective support of the life cycle model by design. This paper outlines the developments by Westinghouse Systems Limited to address this need. The paper provides an overview of MILENIUM Power Applications System (M-PAS). MILENIUM is the latest control centre product range from Westinghouse Systems Limited. The overview covers the M-PAS analyser, graphic user interface, and object database. An implementation example of the M-PAS architecture on a typical control system is also provided
