Abstract
An antenna selections method that achieves the improvement of channel capacity has been proposed. The conventional method selects suitable antennas from all combinations so that the channel capacity is maximized. In the conventional method, a signal is always transmitted and received at all antennas and then it is difficult to save the power consumption. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes a MIMO stream selection. Since the channel capacity depends on azimuth spread, AoD (Angle of Departure), AoA (Angle of Arrival), the proposed method varies the number of streams according to a channel scenario. The proposed system can decreases the power consumption due to limitations on used antennas.
