Abstract :
In this work, a simple method to determine the impedance matrix of a uniform circular antenna array (UCA) is proposed. The impedance matrix of a UCA is a circulant matrix and its eigen vectors are the row vectors of the inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) matrix. Therefore, by setting the external excitation voltage vector to be its eigen vector, the corresponding voltages on the antennas will be the eigen vector as well. Therefore, by monitoring the excitation voltage and the antenna voltage of one antenna element, one is able to obtain the impedance matrix of the UCA.
