Abstract
A low-profile, independently-tunable dual-band antenna is presented. A single-feed dual-band planar inverted F antenna (PIFA) is designed. The two resonance frequencies are decoupled from each other using a series of shorting pins to the ground. Independent frequency tunability is achieved at 700-970 MHz and 1600-2200 MHz using two varactor diodes. Measured and simulated S-parameters and radiation patterns and efficiency are presented.
