Abstract
In this paper, a new dual/triple band metamaterial antenna is presented for wireless applications. Two configurations have been studied. The designs are done by loading the planar dipole antenna with cells of composite right left handed (CRLH) transmission line. The two proposed configurations have been investigated using full wave simulation. Moreover, the performance has been checked using practical measurements. Results confirm that the first configuration has triple band at (1.1 GHz, 1.8 GHz & 2.4 GHz) and the second configuration has a dual band at (1.8 GHz & 2.4 GHz). The gain is better than 3 dB for both configurations. Furthermore, the proposed antenna size is the same as the conventional single band dipole antenna.
