Abstract :
Section 1910.137 of OSHA standards covers electrical protective equipment. Section 1910.269 (commonly known as the "maintenance standard" in the electric utility industry) addresses the maintenance and operation of electric power generation, transmission and distribution installations. These two standards were published in the Federal Register on January 31, 1994. This paper presents an update of recent activities relating to those standards. It also gives a status report on related standards projects with a view towards what the future might bring.
