Abstract
A vital signs detection system, based on motion sensing principle of the Doppler effect, will be described. This system can be used to determine respiration and heart rates remotely, without any sensors attached to the subject. The system consists of a Doppler radar transceiver, an A/D converter, data acquisition software, and DSP software for rate extraction. The radar function can be realized with compact and inexpensive commercially available motion sensor detectors
