Abstract :
The development of a reliable telecommunications power delivery system offers a challenging task. Each component within the power system must be specified for its ability to provide the highest degree of quality and reliability, and then implemented appropriately. Although often overlooked, one of the most important components of all in the power system is the connector and its recommended installation system, simply because without a reliable connection, there is no circuit. The context of this paper proposes a simple quality assurance connection program (QACP) that requires: (1) the specification of power connectors that comply with the requirements of telecommunications system reliability; (2) installation methods that result in consistent performance and include a method to verify that the required quality is achieved; (3) periodic sampling inspections of the connections to verify that the connection system is trouble-free; and (4) a maintenance program that regularly updates methodologies according to specification.
