Abstract :
Antenna couplers test the radiation and resonance performance of devices with wide ranges of frequencies. An antenna coupler with a required frequency range of 0.3-6GHz is designed with a very shallow cavity backing of 8mm. The matching and near fields performance are improved over the frequency range with high dielectric substrate, tapered transmission matching, absorbing materials around the antenna and by combining the Archimedean and Equiangular spiral antenna equations leading to a well performing coupler.
