Abstract :
IEEE 802.15.4 being one of the key communication schemes for low power Wireless Sensor/Actuator Networks (WSAN) has been widely adopted for closed loop wireless control systems, healthcare monitoring systems, building automation, environmental monitoring etc. With increase in demand of "Anyplace and Anytime" available services, a need has been felt to integrate IEEE 802.15.4 with ubiquitously available IP based networks so that remote monitoring and control could be exercised in a seamless manner from anywhere at any point of time. This paper describes the implementation details of a gateway which is capable of exchanging data between IEEE 802.15.4 and IP based networks.
