  • Abstract
The problem of discovery in databases focuses on the issue of extracting knowledge from information contained in a database. We feel that fuzzy logic can provide a powerful tool to aid in this endeavor. In particular we feel that the the idea of a linguistic summary, can be an important vehicle for representing discovered knowledge. We describe some of the salient ideas related to the concept of linguistic summaries
