Abstract
This paper deals with the determination of the leakage current and the flashover voltage of non uniform polluted insulators submitted to ac voltages, using a predictive flashover dynamic model. The influence of the width and the conductivity of polluted layers is investigated. The simulated results are validated experimentally on a plane insulator model using electrolytic solutions of different conductivities. It is found that the simulated results are in a good agreement with the experimental ones.
