Abstract
This experiment was an attempt on extract polysaccharide from Argopectens irradias using water and ethanol and assay its contents using sulfuric acid and phenol method. The extraction rate of crude polysaccharide from Argopectens irradias was found to be 5.419 % and its content was 16.13%. The average recovery rate of crude polysaccharide was 100.7% with 1.72% RSD.The results showed that the method used in this experiment were suitable for extraction and quantification of polysaccharide from Argopectens irradias.
