Abstract
Data fusion is an important tool in remote sensing. The key of a successful image fusion is to find effective and practical image fusion algorithms. A fusion approach is proposed to improve the fusion quality and accelerate computational speed. The new fusion method based on intensity-hue-saturation transform and integer wavelet transform finds an effective image fusion rule. After decomposing the CBERS multi-spectra image by intensity-hue-saturation transform, the intensity component and the high-spatial resolution panchromatic image of Landsat ETM+ are fused. Then the new image is obtained by inverse integer wavelet transform. Visual and statistical analyses prove that the method outperforms the traditional approaches in preserving spectral and spatial information while improving operational speed.
