Abstract :
A novel fluorescent probe bearing 5, 10-bis (4-N-(N´-2-pyridyl methylamino) oxamide phenyl)-15, 20-diphenyl porphyrin (PorBM) was synthesized and charactered. The selective recognition of the copper ions was studied systemly using fluorescent titrations and UV titrations in mixed organic-aqueous solution, the results showed that PorBM could be regard as a fluorescent probe towards copper ions with a higher selectivity, lower detection limits and less interference by other common ions. The 1:2 stoichiometry (host:guest) was confirmed by the method of continuous variation (job´s plot).
