Abstract
Using dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) technique, the aging of stator insulation in two generators (300 MW, 18 kV) after 18 year and 23 year periods of operation respectively was investigated. The 8 temperature spectra of DMA were measured. According to the typical temperature spectra, several parameters of DMA were calculated. The results show that the parameters might be used to characterize the aging of stator insulation in large generators.
