Abstract
A new kind of floating bed named Integrated Ecological Floating Bed (IEFB) was constructed and optimized employing Oenanthe javanica, Hyriopsis cumingii Lea and artificial media. This paper studied the effect of IEFB on eutrophic water quality improvement with results showing that the average removal rates of TN, TP, NH4+-N, CODMn and Chl-α by IEFB were up to 42.6%, 56.6%, 77.7%, 13.5% and 62.2%, while conventional Common Plant Floating Bed (CPFB) 28.7%, 47.0%, 52.8%, 3.2% and 34.8%, respectively, under an average daily temperature of 8~14°C and a hydraulic retention time of 7d. In addition, the influences of the temperature change on IEFB and CPFB were almost the same; however, the pollutant removal efficiency of IEFB was always higher than that of CPFB, demonstrating that IEFB has better effect on the improvement of eutrophic water quality.
