Abstract
In this paper, a technique for numerical acceleration of the spectral domain approach (SDA) for shielded microstrip lines has been presented. This is achieved by speeding up the convergence of series summation in the elements of the Galerkin matrix by leading term extraction and approximating the series summation of the tail as an integral with a correction. This technique results in highly accurate results for the effective permittivity without the need for numerical integration and incurring a very low computational cost.
