Abstract :
The important issues associated with maximising the use of capital assets, limiting down time, extending life and minimising operational and support cost of power stations, are key areas which warrant continuous attention. Today online, high performance intelligent systems with complementary IT tools, can provide improved plant protection, operational and support and therefore enhanced plant life management. The paper shows how the application and integration of intelligent systems with current technology can most effectively and economically deliver improved power plant protection through significantly improving the application of important maintenance and support routines
