Abstract :
The use of small-scale power generating equipment covers a number of configurations adapted for use across an extensive range of applications. The content of this paper considers an approach to condition monitoring and predictive maintenance applied to standby diesel generators and small-scale combined heat and power (CHP) systems. The system described was originally designed to meet the monitoring and control requirements for standby diesel generators, but its potential was quickly realised and the system has now been developed for use in CHP applications
