Abstract :
In this paper a method is proposed to reduce the order of a single-input single-output robust controller. The controller ensures system robust performance and reducing its order may result in loss of robust performance. A lower bound on the controller order is provided using balanced truncation technique which guarantees that the robust performance of the closed-loop system is maintained. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
