Abstract
In this paper, we study the probability of beam collision (BC) in downlink transmissions for a millimeter (mm)-wave based cellular system. Since the beam area increases with the distance between a base station (BS) and a user, cell-edge users can suffer from BC that results in the inter-cell interference (ICI). Using stochastic geometry, we find an upper-bound on the probability of BC under certain conditions.
