Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. To study the Nd:YAG laser ablation of graphite-Co/Ni and the growth of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in an Ar atmosphere at 1200°C, we applied in situ time-resolved imaging and spectroscopic techniques. We discuss the growth dynamics of the particles and SWNTs through the interaction of the ambient Ar with the carbon and metal species released from the target by the laser pulse.
