Abstract :
A novel phase controlled AC heating system for man-made diamond, which uses root mean square (rms) voltage as the control target, is introduced. Using SABER simulation platform, the models of phase control IC and rms IC as well as the overall control system has been constructed. After extensively analysis on the systempsilas characteristics, a specific analog PI controller was designed to improve the real-time capability and control quality. In this controller, proper offset voltage and post filter for measuring signal processing were adopted to depress the starting surge and system ripple. Considering the non-linear and non-continuous characteristics of the system, the PI control parameters are determined by engineering method with SABER. Simulation and experiment results indicate that the proposed controller has characteristics of good real-time capability, high control precision, favorable dynamic and static behaviors as well as easy realization, hence it provide an effective way to solve the problem of unstable quality of the man-made diamond caused by imprecise power control in synthetic machine.
