  • Abstract
The state of water vapor in several kinds of gas molecules and its effect on partial discharge are analyzed. The state of water vapor in N 2, and O2 is found to be not much different from the state in vacuum, but the state in CO2 is quite different from the others. The state of water vapor in these gases does not change when the negative partial discharge is repeated, and the partial discharge inception voltage is constant. It is difficult to form a large water cluster in these gases even if negative partial discharge occurs
