Abstract
This paper describes a scheme to track multiple fluorescent particles diffusing in two dimensions. Fluorescence intensities are measured using a scanning-stage confocal setup. We develop a combined model for the position of the particles and the dynamics of the piezo-stage and design a linear-quadratic-Gaussian controller to drive the overall estimation error to zero. The scheme is illustrated through simulation.
