Abstract :
Parametric interpolation has many advantages over linear interpolation in machining parts. This paper proposes a real-time look-ahead algorithm for tool path which has been modified to line segments and spline curve segments by segments arrangement and spline fitting. By applying the whole interpolation algorithm, the feedrate would be changed according to the characteristic of the tool path and the capability of the machine tool. Simulation results indicate that the developed parametric interpolation can reach a satisfying result.
