  • Abstract
In this paper an improved extension of the Selective Multiuser Diversity (SMUD) scheme is analyzed considering as well as the SNR thresholds, the non-fade duration of the users, i.e. the time that they are able to receive packets in a much more reliable manner. We show that this new approach is optimal in the sense that it yields full spectral efficiency gain with minimal feedback load and low complexity in comparison to other well known techniques.
