Abstract :
In this paper, a generalized LQR-optimal regulator design method for SISO (single input and single output) systems is derived. From the derivation, we can see that the LQR-optimal regulator for first order systems can be expressed as PI controller, for second order systems, it can be in a form of PID controller. Third and higher order systems cases are also discussed. Finally, conclusions are given
