Abstract :
A three dimensional FDTD technique for the simulation and analysis of electromagnetic scattering produced by spherically multilayeral lossy dielectric media, is proposed. Scattering objects are embedded in an unbounded space, truncated by highly absorbing boundary conditions (ABCs). The major advantage of this formulation is that the incident field is impressed upon the scatterer as a boundary condition, yielding very accurate calculations, which, additionally, are sot subject to any kind of numerical dispersion. Results are obtained for various problems, involving the illumination of one or more targets by a diverse set of incident waves and presented graphically in a practical form.
