Abstract
Wireless networks and mobile technologies are booming in recent years. The demand for transporting and storing digital information in a wireless environment continues to grow. With recent development of the wireless LAN technology and the storage technology, we can spawn new efforts to develop wireless network storage for mobile applications in particular personal area and home networks. In this paper, we present a solution of design and development of wireless network storage using a new open source protocol, HyperSCSI. The prototype of the wireless network storage server has been developed. With the prototype, we have performed a benchmark testing. The testing results have shown to reach the conclusion that the HyperSCSI is capable of using an existing wireless LAN based network infrastructure, common-off-the-shelf hardware and well-established storage technologies to be major a support to a high-performance and secure wireless network storage solution
