Abstract
Stability is one of the most important issues in designing adaptive IIR filters. The stability properties of an adaptive filter depend strongly on the filter parametrization and structure. In this paper, based on an input balanced state-space realization, a new parametrization is proposed, under which no stability monitoring is needed. More importantly, the proposed adaptive filter is proved to be bounded-input bounded-output (BIBO) stable in the time-varying environment. Simulations are given, which support our theoretical analysis
