  • Abstract
We describe the Standard Time & Frequency Signal (STFS) broadcast via the Indian domestic satellite INSAT. Under normal operation it is possible to achieve a synchronisation accuracy of better than /spl plusmn/20 /spl mu/sec. For users with high accuracy requirements we discuss the capability of the STFS broadcast to provide sub-/spl mu/sec accuracy using a differential mode. To our knowledge there is no other existing geostationary satellite based one-way time broadcast with this accuracy level.
