Abstract
In this paper, a low radar cross section (RCS) microstrip antenna is proposed. A polarization-dependent frequency selective surface (FSS) structure is designed and used as the antenna ground. By properly etching the elements of the polarization-dependent FSS on the ground of the microstrip antenna, the RCS has been reduced in the angular range of -90° ≤ θ ≤ 90° in both xoz-plane and yoz-plane under the φ - polarized incident wave. The degradation of the antenna performance is not significant.
