Abstract
A shortened Reed-Solomon (RS) code may be folded into a two-dimensional array and used in a burst error channel model to reduce the probability of erroneous reception. Properties of these codes are presented and a decoding algorithm based on list decoding is proposed. In particular, estimates of the probability of successful decoding, decoder error and decoder failure are given
