Abstract
Network delay optimization in unbuffered DS-CDMA random access systems using adaptive packet retransmission is analyzed. The proposed system connects to unbuffered user terminals while offering an adaptive retransmission control (ARC) to eliminate backlog congestion. The delay for the unbuffered system provides a lower bound to the delay for systems with buffering and flow control. Numerical results show that the ARC delays are much lower than the delays with fixed retransmissions. The results are useful in designing such systems for deployment
