Abstract
Diode-pumped solid-state lasers in the 1300 and 1550 nm ranges are well suited to a variety of fiber sensor and analog signal transmission applications. The complexity of the diode-pumped solid-state laser is clearly greater than that of a simple diode laser, but because of power and noise considerations, a diode-pumped solid-state laser will often out perform a diode laser in this type of application. Nd:YAG at 1318 nm and Nd:YLF at 1313 nm are among the most widely used of the diode-pumped solid-state lasers
