Abstract
Information model and communication protocol have been studied for monitoring of power supply. The basic unit of monitoring information is a monitored object. A monitored object has 6 attributes. We have designed the Monitoring Information Library, abbreviated to MIL, to organize and store monitored objects. MIL takes a tree-like shape. Each branch represents a group of monitored objects. And each leaf represents one monitored object. We devise a proprietary protocol, termed as PSRMP. PSRMP Protocol admits a frame format with variable block length. The frame consists of nine fields. The field of application service data unit may admits an object-binding format. An object-binding can include multiple objects. Each object contains a pair of object identification and its value. We use ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation One) to represent object-bindings. TLV (Type, Length, and Value) approach is adopted to encode message for transmission. We use Intel486 as the processor of our ERTUs. The MIL and PSRMP are implemented in C language. We have developed a program for MIL and PSRMP. This program takes a memory space of about 900 bytes.
