Using a split-step angular spectrum algorithm, the spectral phase encoding and decoding of a coherent light pulse for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems has been demonstrated. For dealing with optical components such as lenses and gratings in numerical computation, a spatial treatment has been introduced
