Abstract :
This paper presents a radio frequency identification (RFID) system for intravenous drip (IV) monitoring. There are many patients removing the IV needles by themselves. If this accident is occurred, a doctor or nurse have to stop the effusion of blood and set the IV again as soon as possible. Therefore, we suggest detection system of removing IV lines. In our presented system, antennas are very important. Hence, the antennas for our presented system are designed and evaluated by calculations and measurements. In addition, the communication distance between the proposed tag and reader antenna is measured. As the results, this paper shows that our proposed system can detect removing IV needles whether the tag can communicate with reader or not.
