Abstract :
A novel design of large size thermoelectric module and the application of thermal spraying technology to the module processing were presented for a thermoelectric power generation system utilizing waste heat. Using the thermal spraying process a layer of semiconducting iron disilicides, FeSi2, was directly deposited on the heat transfer surface of the heat exchanger to form a thermoelectric device with large area and high porosity. β-FeSi2 was formed by heat treatment. The thermoelectric properties of β-FeSi2 prepared by thermal spraying were investigated. In addition, porous FeSi 2 thermoelectric devices were fabricated by sintering under various conditions.
