  • Abstract
This paper introduces a type of OFDM-CDMA system that pads OFDM symbols with zeros. We term it ZP-OFDM/CDMA. Like CP-OFDM/CDMA that uses cyclic prefixes, ZP-OFDM/CDMA also enables efficient frequency domain equalization of severe multipath channels. In this paper, we first present the frequency domain equalization method, and analyze the performance of convolutionally coded ZP-OFDM/CDMA over fading AWGN channels, and then derive the upper bound of performance with Viterbi decoding for single user and multiuser cases. Numerical results plot the analyzed performance of ZP-OFDM/CDMA and show that full-loaded multiuser ZP-OFDM/CDMA can provide about I0-6 bit error probability performance when it is convolutionally coded with free distance 20.
