Abstract
In multiple-input single-output (MISO) antenna systems the multiple access interference and cochannel interference is enhanced by multi-antenna transmission, multiple users and multipath fading channel. The performance of MISO systems can be even worse than single-input single-output antenna systems by using a conventional RAKE receiver especially in heavily-loaded systems with many simultaneous accessing users. An advanced MISO receiver using one-shot parallel interference cancellation is proposed for WCDMA downlink transmissions. With the powerful continuous common pilot channel specified in the 3G standardization, mobile stations with a simple FIR filter can achieve very accurate channel estimates. The result is that the enhanced interference can be efficiently suppressed and the transmit diversity can be restored.
