Abstract
As shown in previous papers, the pneumatic gauging method is applicable for both gas-tight and ventilated storage tanks. Therefore, the method can be used to detect the fill level of non-gas-tight tanks (e.g. fuel tanks). Based on a verified model, the paper demonstrates the applicability of the pneumatic gauging method to three different automotive fuel tanks. The experimental results are presented and a discussion of the results indicates constraints and potential improvements of the method.
