Abstract :
Image segmentation is a process of dividing the image into a set of multiple pixels. The aim of segmentation is to change the representation of an image that is more meaningful and easier to analyze. For this reason color image segmentation is essential for an image. On the basis of two parameters i.e. threshold selection and seed point selection associated with segmentation method. In this paper we had used the Shannon and non-Shannon entropy measures like Renyi, Havrda-Charvat, Kapur and Vajda is done to obtain an appropriate threshold value for the purpose of image segmentation. An approach for color image segmentation, which approximately preserves the colors in different segments, is presented. Simulation results of image segmentation using different entropy measures are also presented.
