Abstract
McDonnell Douglas has delivered diode-pumped lasers for space and military applications, and started in 1991 to develop lasers for the commercial marketplace. This paper describes the development at McDonnell Douglas of their commercial laser products of high power direct diode laser systems and diode pumped solid state lasers. Through a combination of diode lasers and micro-optics, McDonnell Douglas developed high power fully collimated point source arrays and quasi-collimated arrays
