  • Abstract
    We present two hard-decision decoding schemes suitable for use in beyond 100 Gb/s optical transmission. The first scheme is based on multidimensional turbo product codes (MTPCs) with component Reed-Solomon (RS) codes. The second scheme is based on generalized low-density parity-check (GLDPC) codes with component RS codes. The proposed schemes perform comparable to recent concatenation of RS and LDPC codes proposal, and solve the problem of nonexistence of A/D converters operating above 100 Gb/s.
