Abstract
For several years, members of the Institute of Electrical Information Technology (IEI) have been working on monitoring and controlling remote systems using Internet technology. Hereby, strategies have been developed for control design and implementation on different systems using only the internet. The publicly accessible results are presented within IEI\´s own "Remote Laboratory" that is primarily installed for education in the field of control technology. In this paper, the Internet presentation with the integration of the remote lab components is shown. As well, the technology and security aspects of the remote access to the simulation tools and the hardware systems is presented and discussed in detail. Experiences gained is presented and their consequences for future design.
